Extravagance

While at a friends home in Saskatoon I snapped a picture of her orchid on her kitchen table. The light filtering through the backyard trees and the rich vibrant yellows of the orchid were so fun to paint. I named it “extravagance” because sometimes it seems to me God went a little overboard when designing flowers.
Painted using walnut-based oils on gallery sized canvas (1.5 inches thick). I have painted the sides of the canvas to seamlessly continue the image so that no framing is necessary.
