Hidden Meaning series

During the Victoria era, flowers were given with more than romance or care in mind. Each flower had it’s own unique meaning, from unrequited love (the daffodil) to resentment (petunia). A bouquet could be given overflowing with sentiments of love and attraction, or the opposite.

I recently went on a pilgrimage to paint the 9 Biblical “fruits of the Spirit” - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. As these are the self-definition of God’s character, I want them to be mine. And perhaps I want to call others to step deeper into these characteristics. To not only see beauty in my work, but to hear the deeper call, the hidden meaning.

This series is still a work in progress.
