 oil on canvas, 2013, 24x36, $700

Born and raised in Ontario, Janet moved to British Columbia to pursue her education and never returned.  She has been an art educator in many settings and has been consistently creating paintings since 2001.

Janet has lived with her family in Saskatoon, and was influenced greatly by the landscape, the rich connection with land and weather, and the people of the prairies.  After a few years on the North Shore of Vancouver where she learned to love painting raindrops, Janet is excited to call Vancouver island her home.  Ocean air, arbutus trees and lush gardens are her visual diet, and she can often be spotted walking with a friend, pausing for “just one more picture”.

Currently Janet’s works explore colour and depth of field, moving from crisp lines to blurred edges, from realism to abstraction.2013 Nov 13 JANET-26-1-Edit-2

Janet has participated in solo and group exhibitions, in Saskatoon, the lower mainland and in the greater Victoria area.  Her works are held in local, national and international private collections.
